When you’re looking for a fire alarm provider, you’ll often see different logos and accreditations on their website or vans — but what do they actually mean? One of the most important (and hardest to achieve) is the BAFE accreditation.

BAFE stands for the British Approvals for Fire Equipment
They are an independent, third-party certification body that ensures companies meet the highest possible standards for fire protection services. In short, BAFE is not just a logo. It’s a mark of quality, professionalism, and trust.
C&M Fire Alarms has proudly held our BAFE accreditation since 2009, covering the Design, Installation, Commissioning, and Maintenance of Fire Detection and Alarm Systems. Achieving this is no small feat. To gain BAFE certification, companies must undergo a rigorous audit process. Every year, an independent assessor visits one of their sites to inspect their workmanship — alternating between a Service and Maintenance project one year, and an Installation project the next. Every five years, they face an even more extensive re-certification audit to ensure they continue to meet (and exceed) the required standards.
Detailed Checks
This level of scrutiny is intense, and rightly so. It ensures that when you see the BAFE badge, you can be confident you are choosing a provider who takes fire safety seriously — not just at the start of a project, but day in, day out.
With over 50 years of business experience, C&M Fire Alarms is committed to maintaining their BAFE accreditation, this reflects their wider values: professionalism, and attention to detail. Choosing a BAFE-accredited provider really does make all the difference.
When it comes to fire safety, it pays to look behind the badge — and choose a name you can trust.
